Code - "If you see your allies losing, that's your chance. Don't step between them. Take the enemy down from behind. And if the enemy is so strong you can't even do that, then just watch your ally be killed. That's what it means to be Onmitsukidō."

Duties - Because the Captain of the 2nd Division also leads the Onmitsukidō, the 2nd Division's duties are directly tied in with the Onmitsukidō, each of the top 5 seated officers is in charge of a certain division of the Special Forces. A general duty for the entire Division would be assassinations and usually seated members are in one part of the Special Forces.
Captains Special Duties - Executive Militia
Executive Militia (keigun; Punishment Force): The first branch of the Onmitsukidō. It is ranked the highest of the five branches in the division. There responsibilities including punishment and assassination of ex-comrades who break the law and acting as scouts during battle against hollows. Its members are dressed all in black and are known for their cold-bloodedness. They specialize in combat using Hakuda. It is normally headed by the the Commander-in-chief of the Onmitsukidō (aka Shinko). Shinko has also added that as leader of the Onmitsukidō he also works in the other 5 divisions of the Special Forces as well as supreme command of each division besides their actual leaders.

Lieutenant Special Duties - Patrol Corps
Patrol Corps (keiratai): Their apparent job is to patrol the Seireitei. In the event of those under house arrest escaping they also are tasked with finding and apprehending them. Externally they patrol the various lands and dimensions to combat dangerous Hollows and other enemies of Soul Society. The Lieutenant has command of this division and is to report to the captain. At anytime however the Lieutenant orders can be overridden by the captain if nessacry.

3rd Seat Special Duties - Detention Unit
Detention Unit: The Detention Unit is responsible for the imprisonment and supervision of all criminals within the Seireitei. They also have another duty known as Special Detention, which concerns those who joined the Gotei 13 but were judged to be a danger to their fellow Shinigami. They investigate, apprehend, and keep these individuals sealed away from the rest of Soul Society within the Special Underground Detention Facility, aka. the Maggot's Nest. It should be noted that those few who are kept in the Maggots' Nest have not actually committed any crime but have been identified by the laws of Soul Society as "Dangerous Elements". This unit acts somewhat similar to a prison and mental rehabilitation center. The 3rd seat has command of this division and is to report to the captain. At anytime however the 3rd seats orders can be overridden by the captain if nessacry.

5th Seat Special Duties - Reversal Counter Force
Reversal Counter Force (riteitai; Secret Remote Squad, Correctional Force): This special unit sends information within the Soul Society. Commonly seen relaying high priority orders and messages to Captains and lieutenants from the Captain-Commander and/or other Captains. The 5th seat has command of this division and is to report to the captain. At anytime however the 5th seats orders can be overridden by the captain if nessacry.

Rules and Regulations (For Members):
1. Show your respect to your superiors and always remember your manners no matter who you speak to.
2. All Assignments assigned to the 2nd Division by the Captain Commander can be recorded, but assignments given by the captain for private matters or for the Onmitsukidō remain within the division, unrecorded unless by the Captain.
3. Any and All information of any type of importance that concerns the 2nd Division or the Soul Society is to be reported to the Captain or Lieutenant ASAP.
4. Follow The Captains orders and execute them as told
5. Do not act out on your own, even in the heat of passion. Stay rational and always report with me first.
6. No fighting within the Division or with other Divisions, remain respectful and be the bigger person.
7. Fighting in the terms of Sparring or Training is allowed however if it becomes life threatening or threatening the welfare of the Division Grounds then it conflicts with the 6th rule and forbinnded.
8. Do as the captain says, but not as he does.
9. Always defend the honor of your Captain and your Division, stay proud.
10. Always accompany vistors, unless told not to by the Captain.
11. Follow The Code
12. Do not enter the Captains Quarters without permission from the Captain.
13. Follow All of these rules as well as any rules added.
Rules and Regulations (For Visitors):
1. Follow Rules 3,6,7,12 and 13.
2. You must always remain accompanied by a member of the 2nd Division unless given permission by the Captain.
3. Respect The Captain of the Division.
4. If left unattended do not roam about.
5. When accompanied by a member of the 2nd Division please be respectful.
