Shikai State: When released, the sword sinks into Dosu's body. From there it can extend outwards from his body at a fast speeds allowing for sneak attacks. For examples, Dosu may grab someone and the sword will extend from his chest and stab them through their chest or he may be attacked by 5 enemies all around him and if they all come in at the same time, he can move his sword through his body at such a speed it appears 5 blades have extended and stabbed all his enemies at the same time. The sword can extend from anywhere and does not harm Dosu at all. Also when in his body when it extends it can extend past it's regular size and stab someone from 5 metres away. It can also help guard against attacks, for example, if someone slashed his arm, he could bring Hokuto just underneath the skin there to repel the attack leaving them open for Hokuto to extend out and stab them.
